John Browning does spectacular work! However, I must admit that I was a bit hesitant at first to use an uot of town persn who I found on the internet. After continuously ending up on his website after performing web searches on basement finishing ideas for almost a year, I felt I had to contact him to see what this guy was all about. The photos off his projects seemed to be at a level beyond the others that I kept seeing on other websites. I didn't just want four walls and a dropped ceiling, I wanted a basement that was every bit as good as the upstairs. The details of the celings, walls and home theater areas that were on his website were exactly what I envisioned in my basement so I contacted him. Now that my plans are complete and the project is getting uderway, my wife and I are so thankful that we found John. If you are planning to finish off your basement and want a basement that "doesn't feel like a basement" then John is the man for the job. He is easy to work with and quite frankly very affordable. I'd say the cost of his plans will be recouped easily because you will be able to get bids on very specific details and each contractor will be bidding on the same thing. After contact John just after New Year's, in a matter of just a few weeks of communication by e-mail, (we both liked communicating by e-mail but you can also call him) I had a finished plan in place with all the details I was looking for. A plan I was able to had a contractor and say "How much can you do this for?" It has made the bidding process easy and we have a plan with 3D renderings of the space so we know exactly what the finished product will look like. John is not just a designer, he's an artist with CAD. He was able to take many of the beams and poles we thought were going to be obstacles and turn them into beautiful architectural details in the ceilings and walls. John will help you plan your basement remodel and you will be delighted with the outcome. Thanks again John, it was a pleasure working with you!

John & I communicated on a regular bases through e-mails and the use of digital photos. I was a little hesitant at first when dealing with an out-of-state service that was done completely through digital photography, my measurements and my available blue-prints. Although, as the project moved forward, I coudl tell that John had a great vision and ideas. With the help of his computer design software, he continually kept me up-to-date with CAD blueprints and very helpful 3D designs. The overal end-product was better than expected and is exactly what I will need to hand in to my village for a building permit. Overall, I am very satisfied with the end result. Throughout the process I did make several changes to the design and John was accommodating and easy-going about it. He never seemed pushy. He did give his professional opinion about design elements that were critical to the "overall flow" of the project and I suggest that you highly take his advice. My suggestion – think very seriously about what rooms and elements you really need for your basement and communicate that to John through a detailed attachmet to his question sheet. make sure what you call a sitting room is the same thing he would call a sitting room, etc. Also, I attached digital photos to give him an idea of what I was looking for. Lucky for me, some of the designs I really liked and found off the internet were designed by him.

John exceeded our expectations. we had about 1000sq. ft. of basement that we wanted to pack everything possible into. John listed to our wishes and came back with a plan that was incredibly creative, and very functional, without creating wasted space. He also worked through revisions when my wife wasn't quite sure what she wanted. In the end we went with a slight revision of the original design. Working over the email/phone worked great – no worries of scheduling or missing appointments. The floorplan drawings are good, but what really helped us were the 3D renderingsand the dollhouse views which allowed us to really understand what the space was going to feel like.

We are so glad we hired John to design our basement. The fee was more than made up in how he maximized the area we had in our basement. He provided solutions to the many problems we had to work around (duct work, window locations, beams). If we had not hired him, I am certain our basement would look like "a finished basement"…. Instead it looks like the rest of the house with a lot of character and design. YOU WON'T GO WRONG WITH JOHN! He even survived my wife's many ideas and "what if we did this?". Friends told me I was foolish to hire someone over the internet to design a plan for our baesment remodeling. Paying him in advance I was warned would be a disaster. WELL MY FRIENDS WERE WRONG! John is testimony to the goodness of man. John Browning did an outstanding job of planning our basement. He incorporated all the features we wanted (and there were many), changed and fixed things until we were 100% satisfied, and he did this all happily. We even exchanged little personal greetings over the time we worked together so now I think of him as a friend as well. John is a good man with talent and a wonderful work ethic. John Browning provided us with the design of our basement finish project and we were very happy with the final design. He had a knack for asking the right questions of us in the planning stages and thenusing the existing limitations of our space to our best interests. We would highly recommend his design services. One caveat was that we needed to make some on-the-spot-decisions regarding details so more exact measurement would be helpful, other than that, he was GREAT!!
